Words

In honor of cousin Ben's (who just asked how many words Natasha knows) birthday, we jotted down all the words Natasha knows - there are a lot! Some of them are clearer than others, so I broke them out between the words that any stranger on the street would recognize, and the ones that Mommy and Daddy would have to translate

Clear as day:

1. Hi
2. Bye
3. Daddy
4. Mamma
5. Ball
6. This
7. Hat
8. Shoe
9. Book
10. Tea (first time I heard this she was picking the teapot up to "fill" a cup - I had no idea she knew the word, and she uses it perfectly contextually every time!)
11. Eye
12. Fish
13. Boobie
14. Bottle
15. Doggie
16. Banana
17. No
18. Down (down means down, but it also means up - when she's underneath the swing reaching up to it, down obviously means she wants up. When she's done swinging she reaches her hands out and says down.)
    
19. Baby
20. Ear (She's typically pointing to an ear when she says this, though sometimes she points to a nose instead)

Words that sometimes need a little translation:

1. Kitty (usually comes out sounding more like titty..)
2. Na na = food
3. Tasha (I HAVE to get this on video.. I can't even stand how cute she is when she says this!)
4. Button (as in belly)
5. Water
6. Bubbles (from one of her favorite books. She says this when she wants you to read the book, while she gets it out for you, and when she sees bubbles)
   
7. Thank you
8. Monkey (sounds exactly like money, but she's not looking for cash, she's looking for her stuffed monkey. Or pointing to the monkeys on her pajamas or in her books)
9. Gorilla (also from a favorite book)
10. Hair
11. Teeth (she'll point to your teeth if you ask her to, but usually this is said pointing to the teeth of the dragon head currently sitting on our stair baluster)
    

And there are tons of words she repeats after you've said them, like Violet, Purple, Aster, etc. When she says them on her own I'll add them to the list :D
