Perhaps when she's 2 years old we'll take of the hospital band.. but not yet.One of the lingering questions is whether her development will keep pace with full-term babies born at the same time, or whether she'll lag behind by ~7 weeks. We've been told to expect her to be a bit behind for now, but that she should be caught up by her first birthday. That makes perfect sense, since milestones around that time are less week-by-week and have longer ranges (like 10-18 months..).
My guess is that it will be a combination.. physical growth will probably continue to lag behind, but I think she'll be pretty close to on-track with other developmental progress (fingers crossed for sleeping through the night this year!).
Case in point, Natasha has been holding her head up for a week or so. It's still pretty wobbly, and she doesn't do so well when she's tired (or, apparently, when a camera is on her!), but she's getting stronger ever day. Take a look:
And that's why we keep putting her through tummy time, even though she hates it most of the time. Sometimes she doesn't mind, but that's usually when she just lays there and does nothing (but look cute!).

Happy Monthday, Natasha! Love,Ben
ReplyDeleteI can now see in this picture that she's going to have her Mommy's "widow's peak." Just how much more beautiful can this baby become??
