Continuing the trend of dragging Natasha around town to see all cools kid stuff, we headed to the Habitot Children's Museum in Berkeley. It's an indoor play area with hands on activities for little kids. Natasha was actually too big for one of the areas!
We started off at an area we knew Natasha would love: water works! There was this cool series of channels that water poured down, and buckets and watering cans the kids filled up and poured into the channel (and by into the channel, I mean on themselves, the other kids, the floor and sometimes by sheer force of will, into the channel)
The tray at the bottom of the channel was completely irresistable to the little feet. EVERY single kid stepped in it at least once so I was pretty glad we took Natasha's shoes off! I had at least one change of everything in the bag except shoes :)

I'm pretty sure Natasha could have happily spent all day here in the one area, but after a diaper and wardrobe change, we headed for drier ground.
There was a little grocery store with carts and shelves and a deli counter that kept Natasha entertained for about the 5 seconds it took her to find a cart and push it out. She did enjoy pushing the cart up and down the hallway for awhile (illustrating a couple of times why all the people that work here must have constant bruises on their legs.. aim doesn't improve until a little later ;) )
This wind tunnel was really cool, but Natasha was only mildly interested.. there was a giant fan, and piles of fake flower petals to scoop up and toss into the wind. The older kids were squealing and having a great time, but Natasha was pretty blase.
She did enjoy scooping the flower petals up off the floor and waving the net around.

This exhibit was popular with all the kids: it's the control console for a rocket ship! It was chock full of lights and buttons and dials and whatsits.
On the wall you can see the stuffed jet packs and astronaut helmets to complete the uniform with the kid-sized jumpsuits. They were still a bit big for Natasha, but not for long!
It's funny.. Natasha holds all kinds of things up to her ear and says "hello" (incredibly cute! I need to get it on video..). Cell phones of course, remote controls, cameras.. but the corded phone on the panel was completely uninteresting. I even held it up to her ear and said hello but it didn't register at all as a phone!
After Mission Control, Natasha climbed right into the rocketship and into the driver's seat. She loves steering wheels and the swivel chair was pretty fun too!
What a great place! Looks like lots of fun. Is that a picture of one of the "older kids" playing in the wind tunnel?!
