Good day!

Today has been a very good day for Natasha. Her bilirubin levels were down from yesterday, so at 10:30 this morning the light came off. And at 10:35 I took the little goggles off which made all of us very happy.

As long as her bilirubin levels don't go up too much by tomorrow morning, she can stay off the light. They think it's likely the level will go up a little, but if it's under 10 there's no need for the light

Today she progressed from 30 to 38 MLs of milk at each feeding, and during the course of the day her IV was turned down to the point that it's entirely off! She still has the tube in her foot in case they need to put her back on, but if things stay as they are, instead of moving it to a different limb tomorrow it'll just come off!

Natasha is steadily gaining weight, she's up to 4lb 8oz and digesting all her food. The next big hurdle is to move from the gavage feeding tube in her nose to her taking food by mouth. The doctor said Monday would be a realistic timeframe to start that. For now, the nursing is still "recreational," but she's definitely getting a taste for the milk.

Since she's off the light, we were able to hold her more today and daddy finally got a chance to hold his little girl. She was very content sleeping in his arms, and daddy was very happy too.

Natasha's fashion is evolving.. she lost the goggles but gained a very stylish hat that Auntie Mel crocheted for her. It fits perfectly :)

Hopefully tomorrow goes as well as today.
